Steven Barrett Sills

Dear Mr. Parisot,

I was so delighted to receive an invitation to the upcoming celebration of your retirement, your career, and your teaching legacy. Although I will not be able to attend, I want you to know how grateful I have been for your lasting influence on my life, an influence which has gone far beyond playing the cello.
So many of the things I learned from you as a cellist have translated into other aspects of my life. My years at Yale were intense and turbulent and exhilarating and long ago. But I still remember so well the special environment at Moose Hill Road and the attention that you and Elizabeth always gave me during those years. It makes me particularly happy to know that your admirable generosity has been so widespread and that generations of cello students have been touched.
I send my congratulations and immense appreciation to you and Elizabeth.
